From LifeSiteNews.com:
A Maine reporter is combating his termination after he says he was fired from his job for issuing a personal email rebutting a homosexualist group's defamation of true marriage advocates.
58-year-old Larry Grard of Winslow, Maine, says that he was fired from his 19-year post at Maine Today Media's Morning Sentinel after local Human Rights Campaign leader Trevor Thomas complained about an email rebuttal Grard sent on his personal email account. What sort of odious, spiteful, and hateful thing did Mr. Grard say?
Grard says he wrote an email from his personal email account to [local Human Rights Campaign leader Trevor] Thomas that read: "Who are the hateful, venom-spewing ones? Hint: Not the yes on 1 crowd. You hateful people have been spreading nothing but vitriol since this campaign began. Good riddance!"I don't agree with Mr. Grard's poor sportsmanship after Maine voters upheld the institution of marriage. However, after having come under much fire from the same sex marriage crowd, I understand his reaction.
I do, however take exception to Maine Today Media's firing him for expressing a private opinion from his private email. That is unacceptable behavior and underlines the insidious ideological control of media and of left-wing thought.
To add insult to injury, Mr. Grard's wife, who wrote a column for the newspaper, was also fired. I can only surmise that Maine Today Media has severe ideological issues, based on faulty assumptions, but presuming broad action which is not only unethical but illegal.
Is this the face that same sex marriage advocates want people to see?
