Specter rejected by Pa. Dems in bid for 6th term: "U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter has been defeated in a Pennsylvania primary in his bid for a sixth term after taking the risky step of switching to the Democratic Party."

What the Republicans and Democrats don't, or won't, understand about the Tea Party movement is that it is not a "Republican thing" (although many Tea Party activists are Republican) but is a general call against big and unresponsive government. The movement is fueled by a growing conservative ideology (largest ideological group of 2009 according to the Gallup Polls, ending the year with 40% support).

This also gives Obama his fourth campaign loss after supporting Specter in the Pennsylvania primary (The Fix). Could this mean that having Obama campaigning on your side is the kiss of political death?

Here's hoping to many more upset incumbents in the future.
