Kathleen Sebelius, the Health and Human Services secretary declares war on business and on free speech.
Everyone, well, except for the truly indoctrinated leftists, but everyone else knows that ObamaCare is a farce. What do I mean by farce? It's a fake, a chicanery of stitched-together entitlements and concessions to insurance lobbyists, burdened with overblown and impossible government regulations, and packaged and labeled with the moniker "health care reform."
Even the most stolid supporters have to admit that the law fails in enough areas to make its implementation problematical at best and horrific at worst. When leftist, statist, power-mongers take over health care, we run into danger - the very real prospect of government taking away natural and civil rights in order to enforce its ideology.
Case in point is a statement made by Kathleen Sebelius, the Health and Human Services secretary, to some insurance carriers.
According to the Wall Street Journal opinion page WSJ.com: Kathleen Sebelius, "the Health and Human Services secretary wrote that some insurers have been attributing part of their 2011 premium increases to ObamaCare and warned that 'there will be zero tolerance for this type of misinformation and unjustified rate increases.'"
The Wall Street Journal article correctly identifies the problem:
What Ms. Sebelius really means is that the government will prohibit insurers from doing business if reality is not politically convenient for Democrats....
This is nasty stuff and an obvious attempt to shift political blame for rising insurance costs before the election. It's also an early sign of life under ObamaCare, when all health-care decisions are political and the bureaucrats decide who can charge how much for a service or product. On one hand, such a dictum from the current administration is a political ploy to keep Democrats in power by hushing any dissent. In a broader sense, and much more dangerous, Ms. Sebelius shows an utter disregard for how business is conducted in the US, and worse, a disregard for free speech. In effect, she's saying, "Yes, you insurance companies may have to raise your premiums, but you absolutely cannot tell anyone the truth about why you have to raise them. If you do tell anyone that it's the government's fault, we will punish you (zero tolerance)."
ObamaCare and Ms. Sebelius have declared war on insurance companies and on free speech.
