Senator Jay Rockefeller teaches the American people what freedom of the press is all about.

RealClearPolitics - Video - Sen. Rockefeller: FCC Should Take FOX News, MSNBC Off Airwaves

RealClearPolitics posted this gem with Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) saying:
There's a little bug inside of me which wants to get the FCC to say to FOX and to MSNBC: 'Out. Off. End. Goodbye.' It would be a big favor to political discourse; our ability to do our work here in Congress, and to the American people, to be able to talk with each other and have some faith in their government and more importantly, in their future.
I understand that Americans are frustrated with the rhetoric of both sides of the political spectrum, but seriously, when a senator argues so obviously out of step with foundational principles of the Bill of Rights, namely against the free press, we ought to wonder how Rockefeller ever got elected in the first place.

This is the same guy who said the internet is the number one national hazard. (Sorry about that Al Gore. It looks like you've invented a dud.) I presume Senator Rockefeller says this about the internet because it allows even people like me to express an opinion about the idiocy of certain senators.

Who are these people and what are they doing in our government?
