Shanna Moakler Resigns as Miss California Pageant Director

Carrie Prejean and Shanna Moakler stand for a photo op at yesterday's news conference where Donald Trumped the pageant officials and allowed Carrie Prejean to keep her crown.

Shanna Moakler, resigned today as Miss California pageant director. As she stated:

"I cannot with a clear conscious move forward supporting and promoting the Miss Universe Organization when I no longer believe in it, or the contracts I signed committing myself as a youth," she continues. "I want to be a role model for young women with high hopes of pageantry, but now feel it more important to be a role model for my children. (US Magazine)

Shanna Moakler apparently was disappointed that (take your pick):

A) Carrie Prejean was allowed to express her beliefs in a pageant when asked a pointed question about same sex marriage (Shanna Moakler was so tactful in her revealing that the pageant paid for Carrie Prejean's breast implants);

B) Carrie Prejean was allowed to remain as Miss California even though she had posed semi-nude (Shanna Moakler only accepts full frontal nudity, like her photos in Playboy);

C) Shanna Moakler believes that she needs to get past her youthful blunders (while condemning Carrie Prejean for photos taken when she was 17);

D) Carrie Prejean lobbied for something she believes in (instead of being a Shanna Moakler version of a role model).

Carrie Prejean was accused by pageant officials for speaking on behalf of marriage, for posing semi-nude for a photographer, for skipping out on some of her official duties, for beating old ladies with a stick, and for eating kittens.
