Info Post

I've been invited as a guest author at Rational Conservatism. For my first post, I've ventured a few thoughts on the welfare state versus free will. Keep in mind that my purpose at Rational Conservatism is to present a more academic discussion of the problems of statism, rather than the snark you've come to expect here on this site. While academic, I will not burden my posts with overbearing language or unfathomable proofs. After all, I agree with Allan Bloom when he notes that the current university system is "essentially flawed and regressive."

That said, here's a snippet from my first post at Rational Conservatism:
The difference of the past 80 years is also evident in the statist attitudes and reduced will of Americans. By will, I mean the human will to self-determination. We’ve lost, as Americans, over the course of the years a steady amount of self-will. Instead of retaining our free will, we’ve allowed government to assume the responsibility over much of our lives.
